What do you get when you mix rich, creamy New England clam chowder and succulent, spicy Manhattan chowder? Try Newhattan, an unusual and wonderfully tasty brew that’s been lapped up by Silicon Valley diners for years, and when Hawgs asked us to brand the soup for supermarkets and street fairs, I whipped up the look, the slogan (“Have it Both Ways”), the beacons (the signage above) and a background story entitled “Newhattan: A Tale of Two Cities” which pokes fun at the regional rivalry of Boston and New York while pumping up the soup.
